Whether you use your RCA digital voice recorder to record interviews, meetings or lectures, the device saves each digital recording in VOC format. A VOC file, however, is not compatible with any native Mac application. To play back the recording on your computer, use third-party conversion software to convert the VOC file to a supported format, such as AAC or MP3. After you convert the file, you can open it directly in iTunes.
Using VLC Media Player
1.Download and install VLC Media Player, which is an open-source application. Open the media player when the installation process completes.
2.Click the “File” tab and select the “Streaming/Export Wizard” option. The Streaming/Export Wizard window opens.
3.Check the box next to the “Transcode/Save to file” option, then click “Next.”
4.Click the “Choose” button and import the VOC file you want to convert. Click “Next.” The Transcode screen appears.
5.Check the box next to “Transcode Audio,” then select “MP3” from the “Codec” drop-down menu. Click “Next.”
6.Click the “Choose” button on the Additional Transcode Options screen. Enter a file name for the MP3 and select your preferred output folder. Click “Next.”
7.Click “Finish” on the Summary screen to convert the VOC file to MP3 format.
Aiseesoft Audio Converter
1.Download and install Aiseesoft Audio Converter. As of December 2012, the program costs $21. Launch the video converter when the installation process completes.
2.Click the “Add File” button and import the VOC file you want to convert.
3.Click the “Profile” drop-down menu and select MP3 or AAC as the output format.
4.Click the “Browse” button in the Destination section and choose your preferred output folder for the converted audio file.
5.Click the “Start” button to convert the VOC file to your chosen format.
Using Bigasoft Audio Converter
1.Download and install Bigasoft Audio Converter. As of December 2012, the program costs approximately $22. Open the program when the installation process completes.
2.Click the “Add File” button and import the VOC file you want to convert.
3.Click the “Profile” drop-down menu and select an audio format that is compatible with Mac, such as MP3 or AAC.

5.Click the “Convert Checked Items” button to convert the VOC file to your chosen audio format.
