Years ago, I used a KVM Switch and skipped on the monitor switching to control multiple computers with one keyboard and mouse. Using a KVM switch was great and attributed to increased productivity and reduced desk clutter but it was clunky and sometimes the KVM switch would have to be reset. Mouse Injector for GoldenEye 007/Perfect Dark. Contribute to carnivoroussociety/MouseInjector development by creating an account on GitHub. You can disable the mouse cursor in the Dolphin menu settings. The way I play most Wii games on Dolphin is use the nunchuck to walk and turn (mapped to WSAD) and use the mouse to aim ONLY (and not turn the camera). Unfortunately if I set Goldeneye to Nunchuck turning the aiming reticule disappears for me in-game, and I cannot aim anymore.
After that, you just need to extract the files anywhere on your PC (Or even external drives, as this is technically portable) and play GE or PD. It's important to note that you NEED to be using the NTSC-U release of both GE and PD, neither the mouse injector or the 60FPS patch works with the PAL / NTSC-J versions.
If you have a rather powerful PC (At least a CPU with good single core perfromance), you should be able to run this at 60FPS, go to the 'Overclock' tab and set it to 9 times if you wish to have 60FPS on both GE and PD. Set it to 18 if you have a powerful CPU so PD has more stability at running on 60FPS consitently without slowdowns. For reference, my i7-3770 @4.3GHz is able to run it perfectly at 18 OC. Overclock x9 is enough for GE
The best plugins to emulate GE and PD are as follows:
Video plugin: Glide64 'Final' Date: May 8 2012 (or GLideN64 Public Release 2.0)
Audio plugin: Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 2
Input plugin: Mouse Injector for GE/PD 1.4
RSP is turned on and off automatically, so don't bother changing this.
The only change you'll have to do to the video plugin is set your own resolution, the settings are automatically set to the proper ones once you launch either GE or PD. For the Mouse Injector, go to Plugins - Input settings and there you'll be able to change your control layout and other options like Field of View. Important: Don't forget to change your controller layout to 1.2 in-game or else you won't be able to move with your keyboard. By default, press 4 to enable mouse injection.
If you want to add GoldenEye and Perfect Dark to Steam, you only need to add the 1964.exe, then right click the game on your library - properties - set launch options and add these:
-g goldeneye007.z64 -f for GoldenEye
-g perfectdark.z64 -f for Perfect Dark
Keep in mind these are just examples and you have to put your ROM's name after -g, just make sure there are no spaces like '-g GoldenEye 007.z64' won't work. Also remember to change the file extension name accordingly to what you have. .z64 is just an example.
Common issues:
Goldeneye N64 Mouse And Keyboard
Automatic Mouse And Keyboard
If for some reason your window doesn't properly scale when going fullscreen, try to right click on 1964.exe - Properties - Compatability - and enable 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings'.
If you're getting bad performance you may not meet the requirements to run GE and PD at 60FPS with the plugins recommended above. Try lowering your overclock settings, and if that still doesn't help, switch to Jabo's video plugin. You'll be unable to see a lot of effects in PD but the performance gain is noticeable.
Mouse or keyboard inputs not detected: Go into Plugins - Input Settings and click on 'Detect devices'. Press a mouse button, then a keyboard key and it should be assigned properly.
